Judging
All science fair projects will be judged on Monday, March 27th through Tuesday, March 28th. At that time the auditorium will be closed and viewing of science fair projects are strictly prohibited. Each student score will be comprised of two scores: display board and interview. The display board will be judged using a rubric posted on this site. Each student will also be interviewed to ensure that the work displayed is authentic. Each board will be assessed by a minimum of three judges. The raw scores of the judges will be averaged, resulting in a final score.
Fair Visitation Hours
Students will be allowed to visit the science fair on Wednesday and Thursday, March 29th and 30th. Teachers will sign up for a designated time to visit the fair. Students will complete an activity while they visit the fair. On Wednesday, the fair will remain open until 5:30PM. We encourage parents to come and visit fair. Students are allowed to visit the fair after school if accompanied by an adult. Please respect the hard work and effort placed into completing the science fair projects by not touching any of the experiments, demonstrations or display without permission.
Announcement of Fair Winners
The winners of the science fair will be announced at the Awards and Presentation Assembly on Monday, April 3rd. Parents are welcome to attend this event. The rubrics for each student will be given to the homeroom teacher approximately a week later. Please review the comments of the judges in preparation for the fair next year. All students that participate in the science fair will receive a participation ribbon.
